History Of
Stanton First Church of God
Stanton First Church of God was established in 1972 when a group of people from Powell County met at the Camargo First Church of God with the RHE Board Members from Anderson Indiana. After the meeting on August 19th, 1972 they contacted Jerry Owens from Winchester to help get the Church started. The first services were held in the Big Oaks Building on College Avenue across from the drive-in theatre. After a short time the Church moved to the D.A.V. Building on Bright Street. They remained there until moving in the present location on East College Street. The dedication service was held on November 5th, 1972. In 2013, the Church underwent a major renovation. Adding a large inviting lobby; carport access, updated nursery and restroom facilities; and almost tripled Sanctuary size.
